Biography
2016-17: Played 12 rounds in his Junior campaign improving his stroke average by nearly 3 shots from 2015-16. Competed in the season opening UNO Invitational at Arbor Links Golf Club with rounds of 83-74-79—236 before notching his best overall tournament to date at the UMKC/Bill Ross Invitational. The T28 finish in Kansas City, MO with rounds of 73-76-74--223 marked a new collegiate career best placing him 2nd on the team that week. Building off that performance he fired a new collegiate low 54 hole total at the Loyola Intercollegiate. He opened the spring in Phoenix, AZ with a career low round 69 followed up with 72-75 for a 216 total at the Palm Valley Golf Club. His final action of the spring saw rounds of 74-71-77 for a 222 total and a T21 competing as an individual at the Bears own Twin Oaks Intercollegiate.
2015-16: Played seven tournaments and 21 rounds for the Bears … Tied for 30th at the Derek Dolenc Invitational (Sept. 27-28) with a season best 74-75-70--219 … The Bill Ross Intercollegiate would yield rounds of 75-76-76 and the F&M Bank/APSU Intercollegiate produced 77-74-75 … Began the spring season of 2016 at the Loyola Marymount Higgins Memorial in exciting Las Vegas, NV … He paired a stellar final round of 72 with 85 and 74 in very early season blustery conditions … Played in the Loyola Intercollegiate next and his first trips around Palm Valley were in 75-78-83 for 236 … His final 2 events of the season were at the Bob Sitton Invitational in Dallas, TX 76-80-76 and the inaugural Twin Oaks Intercollegiate 79-83-70 which also is his home golf course and has been for many years for the Springfield native … His final round 70 (-1) at Twin Oaks matched his collegiate low 18 hole round.
2014-15:Played in three tournaments and eight rounds with a 80 scoring average ... Made his collegiate debut at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational ... Tied for 88th overall, shooting a 75-86-161 in the weather-shortened event ... Also competed in the Loyola Golf Classic, finishing tied for 93rd at 25-over 241 ... His final event of the season was the UALR First Tee Collegiate where he tied for 82nd overall, shooting 22-over 238 as an individual.
Background: Three-time all-Ozark Conference and all-district player at Kickapoo High for coach Ron Yocum's Chiefs ... Finished 10th individually at Missouri state tournament ... Team was first in the district, second in sectional and sixth in state in junior year ... Also played four years of basketball and football.
Personal: Born Oct. 13, 1995, in Springfield, Mo. ... Son of Ann and Rolland Fuchs ... Has two sisters, Tara and Maddi Fuchs ... Father played football at Arkansas from 1973-75 and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 11th round of the 1976 NFL draft ... Plans on majoring in business at Missouri State.
