Jordan Leads Way for Men's Golf at Iowa

RIVERSIDE, Iowa -- Jonathan Jordan paced the Missouri State men's golf team on Monday's (Apr. 20) 36-hole day at the Hawkeye Invitational and is tied for 19th entering the final round. The sophomore from Rolla, Mo. carded a pair of 73's to register a 146 total in two trips around the Blue Top Ridge course.

As a team, the Bears posted 310-303--613 and are tied for 13th with Valparaiso entering the 9 a.m. shotgun start Tuesday. Host Iowa holds a narrow lead over second-place Southern Illinois, 565-567, with South Dakota State (581), DePaul (581) and Drake (583) rounding out the top five in the 14-team field.  

Junior Owen Swearingen is second for MoState and tied for 52nd overall after posting 81-72--153, while Max Bowman is 68th with 78-79--157. Freshman Noah Naugle shot 80-79--159 and senior Christian Rischer carded 79-82--161.
