Men's Golf Finishes Tenth at Arkansas State

Final Results

JONESBORO, Ark. -- The Missouri State men's golf team moved up a spot in Tuesday's (Apr. 14) final round and finished 10th at the Arkansas State Spring Invitational at RidgePointe Country Club. The Bears shot 310-301-300--913 for the tournament and move past Nichols to gain a top-10 spot.

Junior Owen Swearingen and sophomore Jonathan Jordan led the way for MoState, tying for 37th with 227 totals. Swearingen's 73 was the low final round for the Bears to go along with his 78-76 on Monday. Jordan strung together scores of 76-77-74. Senior Christian Rischer was just a shot behind that pair, posting 79-73-76--228, while freshman Noah Naugle was one more back with 77-75-77--229. Sophomore Andrew Fallis, playing as an individual, carded 77-78-83--238 and junior Max Bowman shot 83-78-80--241.

Arkansas State cruised to the team title by posting 839 for 54 holes, far ahead of runnerup Houston Christian's 877. Southeastern Louisiana (879), Bradley (885) and Omaha (886). rounded out the top five in the 11-team field.

The Bears are back in action next Monday and Tuesday (April 20-21) at the Hawkeye Invitational in Riverside, Iowa.
