AUSTIN, Texas -- The running events at the 88th Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays began with the 400-meter hurdles prelims on Thursday afternoon. Both Missouri State competitors to race on Thursday, Shani Adams and Oarabile Babolayi, were entered into the opening race.
The 400m hurdles women's field featured 75 collegiate athletes. Adams placed third in her heat, and fifteenth overall, with a time of 1:00.19. Babolayi finished her heat in fourth, and twentieth overall, after crossing the finish line in 1:00.79.
The top nine finishers qualified for Friday evening's finals. The nine to qualify for the finals recorded times between 58.21 and 59.69, with Arkansas' Sparkle McKnight posting the fastest qualifying time.
Missouri State is scheduled to compete in seven events on Friday. Beginning at 9:35 a.m., are the 4x100-meter relay, 100-meter hurdles, 100-meter dash, then the 4x400-meter relay on the track.
The long jump will begin at 10 a.m. after the men compete, and the afternoon session will feature the triple jump. The evening session on Friday will include Bears in the 1600 sprint medley relay.
