MSU Relay Teams, Individuals Prevail at Missouri Invitational

Columbia, Mo. - The Missouri State track & field team set eight personal records at Friday's Missouri Invitational in Missouri's Hearnes Center Fieldhouse.

Sophomore Rosalie Pringle won the 400 meter dash by 0.41 seconds, setting a new personal best of 57.25 in the process.

Missouri State also claimed the victory in the 4x800m relay. This was the first meet of the season that Missouri State competed in the event and earned the victory with a time of 9:38.24. The relay team consisted of Oarabile Babolayi, Althia Maximillien, Shani Adams, and Rosalie Pringle.

In the 4x400m relay, the Bears won Heat 2 and placed second overall with a time of 3:59.02. The four MSU runners in the relay where Rachel Campbell (59.25), Merica Moncherry (58.99), Miche-Ala Woods (1:01.13), and Erin Roebuck (59.67).

Earlier in the meet, Roebuck placed fifth with a new PR of 26.09 in the 200 meter dash.

Three Bears set new career marks in the 60 meter hurdles. Junior Babolayi placed third in the final heat with a time of 8.77, Holly Pattie-Belleli mirrored her PR prelim time in the finals to place fifth at 9.00, and freshman Antonea Carson ran 10.72 in the prelims.

Melanie Raterman (15.77) in the weight throw, Savannah Beaver (5:21.44) in the mile, and Chelsie Horton (7.78) in the 60 meter dash all broke personal records in the Mizzouri Invitational. Horton was one of three Bears, along with Chelsey Borders and Shavonne Husbands to advance to the finals of the 60 meter dash.

"Today was good for us," said director of track & field and cross country Ronald Boyce. "But we are really excited for next week."

Missouri State competes next at the UAB Vulcan Invitational on Friday.
