Cronhardt’s Record-Book Day Leads Bears at John McDonnell Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Missouri State women's track and field continued its late-season push Friday at the John McDonnell Invitational, posting several personal-best marks and three performances that landed on the program's all-time top-10 list.

"This team is truly moving in the right direction at the right time," said head coach Jordan Fife. "The positive energy is contagious and we're looking forward to a big next few weeks."

Ella Cronhardt led the Bears with a standout day in the distance events, winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal-best time of 10:20.98. The mark moved Cronhardt to No. 2 all-time in Missouri State history. She also added a third-place finish in the 1,500-meter run, crossing in a personal-best 4:28.56 to move to No. 4 on the program's all-time list.

Missouri State also saw Claire Farrell climb the record book in the 400-meter dash, where she finished eighth with a personal-best time of 54.11. Her performance ranks No. 6 all-time in school history.

The Bears opened the meet with a strong showing in the 4x100-meter relay, as the team of Kayleigh Jenkins, Delaney Weimer, Claire Farrell and Olivia Rogers placed third in 45.17. Missouri State's second relay team of Shackera Douglas, Rakiya Lang, Brianna Howard and Sydney Ward finished ninth in 46.02.
In the 100-meter dash, Jenkins led the Bears with a personal-best 11.56 to finish eighth. Rogers followed in ninth with a time of 11.60, while Howard placed 13th in 11.73. Lang crossed in 11.91, Douglas finished in 11.97 and Ward added a time of 12.16.

Rogers also paced Missouri State in the 200-meter dash, finishing seventh in 24.00. Weimer followed in 10th with a time of 24.36, while Lang placed 13th in 24.48. Howard ran 24.60 and Douglas finished in 25.06.

The Bears posted several strong marks in the 400-meter dash, led by Farrell's all-time top-10 performance. Whitney Farrington finished 15th in 55.65, while Jordyn Buckley and Raegan Foster each turned in personal-best efforts. Buckley crossed in 55.81, and Foster followed in 55.92. Barrett Jackson rounded out the group with a time of 57.96.

In the hurdles, Cheria Galbreath placed 15th in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.65. BreAna Garrett led the Bears in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing eighth in 1:01.07. Galbreath followed in 18th with a time of 1:02.81, while Mirabella Redman placed 21st in 1:03.35.

Missouri State continued to produce personal-best marks in the middle-distance events. Abby Meyer led the Bears in the 800-meter run, finishing 10th with a personal-best 2:12.59. Faith Fotiades also posted a personal best, crossing 12th in 2:13.80. Kaitlyn Hatley finished 16th in 2:17.44, while Raegan Schnurbusch ran a personal-best 2:18.77 and Emilee Brusselers followed in 2:18.84.

Cronhardt added one of the Bears' top performances of the day in the 1,500-meter run, placing third with her personal-best and No. 4 all-time mark of 4:28.56.
Missouri State also had a strong showing in the 3,000-meter run, with Amy Gotfredson finishing second in a personal-best 9:56.45. Elsa Henry added a fourth-place finish with a personal-best time of 10:04.34.

The Bears were especially strong in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, placing five runners inside the top seven. Cronhardt won the event in 10:20.98, while Mary Margaret Harris finished third with a personal-best 10:39.03. Adrien Martens placed fifth in 11:01.73, Emily Nuttall finished sixth in 11:08.39 and Ella Rew crossed seventh in 11:09.53.

Missouri State closed the track events with two top-seven finishes in the 4x400-meter relay. The team of Farrell, Farrington, Foster and Garrett placed fifth in 3:42.83, while Jordyn Buckley, Galbreath, Seleena Morris and Jackson finished seventh in 3:49.95.

In the field events, Shiloh Cross continued her strong outdoor season with a third-place finish in the triple jump, posting a mark of 12.23 meters. Jenkins cleared 1.60 meters in the high jump to finish 14th.

The Bears also earned two top-five finishes in the javelin throw. Tommi Martin led Missouri State with a runner-up mark of 41.02 meters, while Brooklynn O'Cain finished fifth at 38.59 meters.

Missouri State returns to action May 1-2 at the SMU Invitational in Dallas, Texas.
