
Bears Look to Build in Dallas at SMU Invitational

The Bears will compete as part of an 18-team field and enter the weekend after a strong showing at the John McDonnell Invitational, where Ella Cronhardt and Claire Farrell climbed the program's all-time lists and Missouri State added several personal-best performances across the track.

Keeping Track of the Bears
• Ella Cronhardt continued to lead the Bears' distance group with one of the strongest performances of the weekend in Fayetteville. Cronhardt finished third in the 1,500-meter run with a personal-best time of 4:28.56, moving her to No. 4 all-time in program history. She also won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:20.98, the second-fastest mark in Missouri State history.
• Missouri State put together a dominant showing in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, placing five runners in the top seven. Along with Cronhardt's event win, Mary Margaret Harris finished third with a personal-best time of 10:39.03, while Adrien Martens, Emily Nuttall and Ella Rew placed fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively.
• The Bears also showed well in the 3,000-meter run, with Amy Gotfredson finishing second in a personal-best 9:56.45 and Elsa Henry placing fourth with a personal-best 10:04.34. The performances added to a strong weekend for Missouri State's distance crew.
• Claire Farrell turned in one of the Bears' top sprint performances at the John McDonnell Invitational, finishing eighth in the 400-meter dash with a personal-best time of 54.11. The mark moved Farrell to No. 6 all-time in program history in the event.
• Missouri State added several strong marks in the 400-meter dash, with Whitney Farrington finishing 15th in 55.65, Jordyn Buckley placing 16th with a personal-best 55.81 and Raegan Foster following in 17th with a personal-best 55.92. Barrett Jackson also competed in the event, finishing in 57.96.
• The Bears continued to show depth in the short sprints, led by Kayleigh Jenkins' personal-best time of 11.56 in the 100-meter dash to finish eighth. Olivia Rogers followed in ninth at 11.60, while Brianna Howard, Rakiya Lang, Shackera Douglas and Sydney Ward also represented Missouri State in the event.
• Rogers also led Missouri State in the 200-meter dash, finishing seventh in 24.00. Delaney Weimer placed 10th in 24.36, while Lang, Howard and Douglas also competed for the Bears in a deep sprint field.
• Missouri State's relay groups remained steady in Fayetteville, with the 4x100-meter relay team of Jenkins, Weimer, Farrell and Rogers finishing third in 45.17. The Bears also placed fifth in the 4x400-meter relay, as Farrell, Farrington, Foster and BreAna Garrett crossed in 3:42.83.
• Garrett led the Bears in the 400-meter hurdles with an eighth-place finish in 1:01.07. Cheria Galbreath followed in 1:02.81, while Mirabella Redman finished in 1:03.35. Galbreath also competed in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing in 14.65.
• In the middle-distance events, Abby Meyer and Faith Fotiades both recorded personal-best times in the 800-meter run. Meyer finished 10th in 2:12.59, while Fotiades placed 12th in 2:13.80. Raegan Schnurbusch also added a personal best in the event, crossing in 2:18.77.
• Missouri State also picked up strong field event finishes at the John McDonnell Invitational. Shiloh Cross placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 12.23 meters, while Tommi Martin finished second in the javelin throw at 41.02 meters. Brooklynn O'Cain added a fifth-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 38.59 meters.
