SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State continues to add talent to its baseball roster for next season, adding Longview Community College right-handed pitcher and Blue Springs, Mo., native Danny McMurtrey to its recruiting class.

    McMurtrey completed his sophomore season at Longview with a 6-5 record and a 4.44 ERA while leading the team in wins and innings (79). The 6-2, 175-pounder struck out 47 against 16 walks in 15 games.   

    As a freshman at Longview, playing alongside current Bears Brock Chaffin and Spiker Helms, McMurtrey tossed 23 innings in 17 games, fanning 11 with a 5.09 ERA and 0-1 record.
