At MSU: Johnny Wacker spent his first season with the Bears as a redshirt in 2007 and will look to use the experience he gained to solidify a spot in a tough Bears' linebacker unit.
Background: Wacker started three years at linebacker and tight end for the Columbia (Mo.) Rock Bridge High Bruins, earning all-district honors as a sophomore and senior. He finished with 120 tackles, 4.5 sacks and an interception as a senior, and ranked fourth in the state with 119 tackles as a sophomore. Wacker also was an accomplished shot putter, finishing ninth at the state meet his junior season.
Personal: Johnny Travis Wacker was born 9/5/88 in Columbia, Mo., the son of Fredric John Wacker and Dawn Wacker Locklin. Wacker is planning a major in administrative management.
