Biography

At MSU: Brandon Oliver will look to secure a starting position at wide receiver in the high-powered Bear offense after earning a major role a year ago and starting the last four games. Of his 11 catches, seven came in the Southern Illinois and Indiana State games; he caught four for 22 yards vs. SIU and three for 44 vs. ISU. He also had a 34-yard touchdown reception in the finale against Southeast Missouri State. Oliver also recorded seven special teams tackles and returned one kick for 17 yards.

Background: Oliver joined former prep teammate Stephen Johnston at Missouri State last fall after the two enjoyed successful careers at Mansfield Summit High, where their coach was former Bears' QB Kyle Geller. Oliver was a two-year starter and three-year letterman at running back and wide receiver before earning all-district laurels as a senior. He was Dallas Metroplex top 50 and Texas top 100 recruit, and was ranked 77th nationally at his position.

Personal: Brandon E. Oliver was born 1/25/89 in Arlington, Texas, the son of Ben and Marietta Oliver. Oliver is majoring in psychology.
