        2011: Petree was tabbed MVC Freshman of the Year and a second-team        all-league selection...Freshman All-America selection by Collegiate Baseball and        the NCBWA...Missouri State Pitcher and Rookie of the Year as voted on by his        teammates...Pitched 96 innings in 11 starts and five relief appearances, going 9-2 with a        2.81 ERA, 81 strikeouts and two saves...Took over the Friday night starting role March 25        at Oral Roberts, made his first start March 16 versus SEMO, and pitched at least six        innings in all 11 starts, allowing three or fewer earned runs in 10 of those...Tossed at        least seven innings in 10 starts and eight innings five times...Win and inning totals set        MSU freshman records, while strikeout total ranked third...First MSU freshman and 10th        pitcher overall to begin a season 6-0...Inning total ranked sixth in MSU history for a        season while win total ranked seventh...Finished fourth in the MVC in wins and strikeouts        looking and sixth in innings pitched and total strikeouts...Debuted with seven strikeouts        and one run in six innings at Texas State (Feb. 19) for a relief win...Had an 11-inning        scoreless streak spanning his first three appearances, including the win over Texas State        and saves against Texas-Arlington (Feb. 26) and Oklahoma State (March 1)...Struck out a        season-high 11 batters in a win over Wichita State (April 8)...Held opponents to a .236        average overall and .212 with runners on base...Went 3-0 with a 1.97 ERA and .188 average        in 32 innings at Hammons Field...Went 5-2 with a 2.94 ERA and two complete games in MVC        play...Rated by Perfect Game and Baseball America as the MINK League's top        prospect after going 3-0 with a 0.27 ERA for the Sedalia Bombers...Fanned 33 batters        against four walks while allowing 19 hits and one earned run in 26 innings over teh        summer.
        2010: Sat out the 2010 season as a redshirt while recovering from Tommy        John surgery.
        Background: Petree was a four-year starter at Clinton (Mo.) High,        completing his career with a 22-6 record, 1.56 ERA and 278 strikeouts in 179        innings...Earned first-team all-state, all-district and all-conference honors as a senior,        going 8-1 with a 0.70 ERA and 120 strikeouts...Was first-team all-conference and        all-district as a pitcher and was named the MVP at the CABA World Series as a junior...Was        an all-conference and all-district pitcher as a sophomore, helping the Cardinals to a        third-place state finish.
