Biography

At Missouri State: Austin Todd is ready to contribute as a midweek starter and long reliever after rebounding from shoulder surgery that cut his junior season to one game.

2008: Todd made one start during his junior season, pitching 1.2 innings and striking out three at Central Arkansas (3/2) before undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery.

2007: Ranked second on the staff with 23 appearances, a number that tied for fifth in MSU history for a single season ... Opponents batted just .235 against Todd, collecting only 32 hits in 37 innings ... Finished the year 2-6 with a 6.57 ERA, one save and 24 strikeouts ... Threw two perfect innings as part of MSU[apos]s shutout at Minnesota (3/10) ... Allowed one hit in two innings versus South Dakota State (3/17) ... Gave up a run and two hits in 4.1 innings to earn the victory at Arkansas-Little Rock (3/19) ... Threw two hitless innings at Illinois State (3/31) ... Picked up the win with 2.1 innings of hitless relief against Southeast Missouri State (4/4) ... Surrendered one hit in three scoreless innings against No. 10 Wichita State (4/20) ... Picked up his first save with 1.2 perfect innings to close the Evansville (5/6) game ... Was a West Coast Collegiate League All-Star in the summer, posting a 1.04 ERA with 26 strikeouts in 34.2 innings for the Kelowna (B.C.) Falcons.

2006: Made two appearances as a freshman, allowing four runs and striking out a pair in two innings at Middle Tennessee State (3/4), and giving up two hits but no runs in a third of an inning versus Minnesota (3/25) ... Finished the season with no record, two strikeouts and a 15.43 ERA.

Background: Austin Todd was an outstanding player at Columbia (Ill.) High ... During his senior year, he pitched in 14 games and logged 67 innings, posting a 6-3 record, 2.51 ERA and 103 strikeouts ... He won the Bullpen Award for CHS in both his junior and senior seasons, as well as being third-team all-metro and second-team all-area his senior year. He also was named all-conference and all-area his junior year ... As a sophomore he was named the Pitcher of the Year for the Eagles.
