CARBONDALE, Ill. – Missouri State track and field finished the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championship in fourth place with 90 points on Sunday.

The Bears fourth place finish marks their best since 2021. They were picked to finish seventh in the prechampionship poll and ninth in the preseason poll.

MoState took home six medals on day two of the meet. The 4x100-meter relay started the day with a third-place finish. The team of
Kayleigh Jenkins,
Olivia Rogers,
Brianna Howard and
Rakiya Lang finished the race with a time of 45.27 seconds. The Bears took home another medal to end the day in the 4x400-meter relay.
Whitney Farrington,
Meghan Halstead,
Alex Adams and
BreAna Garrett finished with a time of 3:39.41.

Olivia Rogers led the Bears in the medal count. In addition to her bronze in the 4x100-meter relay, Rogers took home another bronze medal in the 100-meter with a time of 11.59 seconds. The Dearborn, Mo. native also earned a silver medal in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.65.

Adams earned a silver medal as well in the 800-meter run. The fifth year from Nixa, Mo. ran the race in 2:08.61 to close out her first year as a Bear.

Halstead was the final medalist for the Bears. The senior out of St. Louis finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.02.

Jordan Fife said. "It has been a pleasure to be with them this entire year. They've worked so hard to improve this program and for them to take us from ninth indoor to fourth outdoor is truly remarkable. We had highlight after highlight this weekend and it was truly a team effort. The energy was there from start to finish and everyone was so engaged all the way to the very end."
