Keeping Track of the Bears
  • The Missouri State track and field team is heading to its final Missouri Valley Conference Championship on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18 in Carbondale, Ill. Track events will kick off at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday with the 10,000-meter run with field events starting at 10:00 a.m. with the heptathlon. The action will continue on Sunday with a 9:00 a.m. start time for field events with the rest of the heptathlon and a 1:25 p.m. start time for track with the 4x100-meter relay.
  • Typically, the MVC Outdoor Championship has been three days long, but this year it is two days.
  • The Bears will compete in 15 events through the two-day meet.
  • Several Bears have stood atop the MVC rankings all season long. Olivia Rogers is third in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. Whitney Farrington is also third in the 400-meter dash. Meghan Halstead is ranked second in the 400-meter hurdles. Reagan Reedy is also second in javelin while Kamdyn Moody sits third in the heptathlon. Freshman Maliya Clark is ranked fifth in the triple jump.
  • The Bears have been ranked fourth in the conference TFRI since April 15. Missouri State was picked to finish seventh in the Valley in the prechampionship poll with 79 points.
  • Missouri State will compete in Conference USA nest season.
