SPRINGFIELD - Missouri State STUNT (8-16, 3-5 Mid America West) will compete in its first-ever conference tournament this weekend at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington, Kentucky. The double-elimination tournament will pit all seven Mid American West Conference teams for a chance to claim the tournament crown and a chance to compete at the College STUNT National Championship in Nashville later this month.
The Bears are the No. 5 seed in the tournament and will hit the mat first against No. 4 Mercyhurst at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The conference tournament hosted by the University of Kentucky will be streamed on

On the Mat
- Missouri State finished the regular season 8-16 with a 3-5 record against conference opponents. The Bears defeated Central Arkansas on March 8 and took down Northern Kentucky twice on March 15 and March 28.Â
- MoState went 1-3 at the Music City STUNT Classic in Nashville last weekend to end the regular season. The Bears lost to eventual conference tournament foe Mercyhurst, 16-14, to open the last day of the tournament.Â
- Against Mercyhurst, Missouri State led 8-7 entering the final quarter. The Lakers outscored the Bears 9-6 in the team routine to win the game. Parrish led MoState with a power rating of 35, followed by Olive (34) and Speckhart (31).Â
- Missouri State is one of three new Division I members to sponsor STUNT in 2025, along with Northern Kentucky and Mercyhurst, the latter of which made the jump from DII this year.
- MoState reclaimed its No. 5 ranking at the DI level in Wednesday's collegestunt.org rankings. No. 6 Central Arkansas swapped places with Missouri State after dropping its four games at the Music City STUNT Classic.
- The inaugural Bears STUNT team boasts a roster of 22 student-athletes with 14 coming from Missouri. The roster also includes players from Arkansas (1), Kansas (2), Illinois (2), Oklahoma (2) and Wisconsin (1).
Head Coach Kennedy Wingbermuehle
- Missouri State STUNT head coach Kennedy Wingbermuehle was named the team's inaugural head coach on Feb. 27, 2024.
- She was the head coach at Central Methodist for the 2023 and 2024 seasons, where the Eagles entered the 2025 season as the No. 3-ranked NAIA team.Â
- Wingbermuehle was the captain of the Oklahoma State cheer team and part of the 2021 NCA National Championship Team in the large coed division. She was also a member of Oklahoma State's STUNT team, earning Division I STUNT Athlete of the Year honors for a program that won seven straight national titles.
