SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State STUNT (12-10) will travel to Lexington, Ky. on Friday, March 27 to compete against the University of South Carolina, Jessup (Calif.), UT Martin and Maryville in a two-day, four-game slate which will conclude regular season competition. Missouri State is now ranked No. 4 in NCAA Division I STUNT as per STUNT the Sport rankings released on 03/25/26.
"The team is very motivated going into this weekend. We have two rematches from very close games, so we are hoping for results in our favor. We are going to continue to push for more confidence and consistency going into the post season," stated head coach

Head Coach Kennedy Wingbermuehle
Kennedy Wingbermuehle was named as the inaugural head coach for Missouri State's new STUNT team on Feb. 27, 2024.
Wingbermuehle oversaw Missouri State STUNT's inaugural season in 2025, where the Bears competed at the Division I level. She guided Missouri State to its first-ever STUNT win on Feb. 15, 2025, over Drury in a tournament hosted by Oklahoma Baptist University.
MoState went 9-18 in its first year in STUNT, including going 3-5 in the regular season in Mid America West Conference play. The Bears defeated previous 2024 NCAA Tournament team Central Arkansas to advance to day two of the Mid America West Conference Tournament in Lexington, Kentucky. Peighton Powell to be named to the All Mid America West Tournament Second Team in 2025, the first all-tournament honor in program history.
STUNT Bears
- In their inaugural season in 2025, Bears STUNT amassed a 9-18 record overall with a 3-5 record in conference competition.
- STUNT has officially been approved as an NCAA championship sport following a vote by NCAA membership at the 2026 NCAA Convention, marking a major milestone for Missouri State STUNT and women's collegiate athletics nationwide. The first NCAA STUNT championship is projected for spring 2027 and will feature a National Collegiate Championship in which student-athletes from all three divisions compete for a single national title.
- Collegiate STUNT is divided between the Division I, II, III, NAIA and Club levels.
Scouting the Competition/Series History
- Missouri State STUNT opens the weekend slate against the South Carolina Trojans, marking the first meeting between the two teams.
- The Bears will then take on the Jessup (Calif.) Warriors, in what will also be the first match-up between the two teams.
- Missouri State then tackles UT Martin, who the Bears have a 0-2 record against. Earlier this month on 3/14/26 the Skyhawks took the win, 30-28. Last year on 3/16/25 the Skyhawks were victorious with a fiercely contested 15-12 scoreline.
- The Bears then face Maryville, who the Bears 0-2 have a record against. Earlier this month on 3/15/26 the Saints earned a nail-biting win, 23-22. Last year on 3/7/25 the Saints took the win with a 21-6 scoreline.
Mid America West Conference
- Missouri State STUNT competes in the Mid America West Conference, a Division I STUNT conference that consists of Central Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri State, Mercyhurst, Northern Kentucky, and UT Martin.
