April 12, 2025

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Missouri State track and field capped off the weekend with a handful of podium finishes and a steeplechase sweep at the Arkansas Spring Invitational on Saturday.

Adrien Martens started the day with a win for the Bears. The junior recorded a personal best time in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:16.66. Emily Nuttall finished in second place with a personal best of 11:24.94. Addysen Clark secured the sweep with a third-place finish and a time of 11:32.44.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Meghan Halstead broke the one-minute mark with a personal best time of 59.69 for a second-place finish. Cheria Galbreath and Mirabella Redman were the other two Bears in the event and they both posted PR times of 1:03.89 and 1:04.28, respectively.

Maliya Clark and Jenna Belcher were the final Bears to reach the podium in Arkansas. Both freshmen secured personal bests in the triple jump. Clark finished in second place with an attempt of 12.01 meters, just .03 meters shorter than the first-place finisher. Belcher finished in third with an attempt of 11.62 meters.

"I feel very encourage by today's results," head coach Jordan Fife said. "We had a huge number of lifetime bests and several near misses. The momentum is really good right now. We had some big time performances from so many people today including Maliya, Alex, Ella, Meghan, Olivia and Reagan. Their marks are going to be very competitive in the conference."

The Bears will return to Arkansas for the John McDonnell Invitational on April 25.
