OMAHA, Neb. - The Missouri State men's and women's swimming & diving teams face Omaha on the road in a two-day meet on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. Friday's competition begins at 4:00 p.m. and Saturday's competition begins at 9:30 a.m. at H&K Swimming Pool.
Bear Splashes (Women)
	- The women's team fell to the Indiana State Sycamores in the Bears' latest meet, with a 192.5-160.5 scoreline.
Standout performances against Indiana State included:
	- Freshman Aleca Howard won the 400-yard individual medley convincingly (4:27.28), and the 200-yard individual medley (2:07.24) with senior Lana Janson right behind her (2:09.83). Her performance earned her the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Freshman of the Week award on Oct. 21. This is her first award as a Bear.
- Junior Olivia Sala, Janson, sophomore Addie Ludbrook, and junior Makenzie Kurre won the 400-yard medley relay (3:48.37).
- Ludbrook took out the 100-yard butterfly (56.69), edging past sophomore Lillie Freulon (57.66).
- Janson won two brilliant races in a row, the 50-yard freestyle (24.45) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.99).
- In the 100-yard freestyle, Kurre was victorious (52.16).
- The Bears finished the swimming portion of the meet with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay with Johnson, freshman Paige Corbin, Kurre and senior Ainsley Jenkins claiming victory (3:30.38).
- On the diving board, in the three-meter competition, freshman transfer Delaney Nickles finished second with a score of 261.10. In the one-meter competition, Nickels also finished second with 256.40 points. 
- Missouri State women's swimming & diving has won 20 of the last 23 Missouri Valley Conference championships and looks to return to the top spot this season after a third-place finish in 2025.
Bear Splashes (Men)
	- The men's team dominated against Ouachita Baptist winning their second straight meet with a 222-122 scoreline.  
Standout performances against the Tigers included:
	- Senior Storm Opdahl once again swept all of the diving competitions. In the one-meter diving competition, he won assuredly with a score of 332.85. In the three-meter dive, he took the victory with 337.85 points just in front of senior Logan Schelfaut with 330.05 points. This performance earned him his second Missouri Valley Conference Men's Diver of the Week award of the season on Oct. 21.
- Sophomore Carter Crook, freshman Kiefer Roemer, sophomore Jack Ailshire and senior Lucas Chadwell (3:18.93) were victorious in the 400-yard medley relay.
- Junior Anderson Brown took out the 400-yard individual medley (4:01.64) in front of sophomore Mate Miszlai (4:06.25).
- Ailshire won the 100-yard butterfly (50.54), scraping past senior Chris Bedsole (50.61).
- Freshman Kayden Hedrick took out the 200-yard freestyle (1:42.18), edging past sophomore Ilias El Fallaki (1:42.80).
- Senior Lucas Chadwell sprinted to a win in the 50-yard freestyle (20.98).
- Roemer dominated the 100-yard breaststroke (55.12), finishing almost five seconds in front of Tiger Lucas Cagle (1:00.23).
- In the 100-yard backstroke Crook was victorious (51.18), scraping past Tiger Mikhail Lymar (51.32).
- Fallaki took out the 500-yard freestyle comfortably, (4:40.91).
- In the 200-yard freestyle relay, junior Matvei Chesakov, Roemer, freshman Zach Mendez and Chadwell teamed up to take victory, (1:22.78).
- Crook, senior Luigi Maciel da Silva, Ailshire and Chadwell teamed up to win the 200-yard medley relay (1:30.71).
- Freshman Zach Mendez dominated the 1000-yard freestyle (9:29.96), finishing far ahead of Tiger Tyler Andruss (9:56.28).
- In the 200-yard backstroke it was sophomore Gonzolo Ruiz Vazquez who finished first (1:50.57).
- Chadwell reigned over the 100-yard freestyle (45.72).
- Da Silva won the 200-yard breaststroke convincingly (2:04.17).
- In the 200-yard butterfly, Hedrick (1:51.60) scraped past Bedsole (1:51.76) while Ailshire ensured an MSU podium sweep in third (1:55.48).
- Junior Anderson Brown took out the 200-yard individual medley (1:54.30) in front of Ruiz Vazquez (1:56.08) and Roemer (1:56.30).
- The Bears wrapped up the swimming portion of the meet with a victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay by Chesakov, Bedsole, Mendez and Chadwell (3:04.14).
- Missouri State men's swimming & diving is also looking to improve on a third-place finish at the MVC Championship in February. The team has won 21 conference championships in its history, including five MVC championships.

·        Missouri State women's swimming & diving holds a 2-0 dual record against the Mavericks.
Head Coach Dave Collins
	- Missouri State swimming & diving head coach Dave Collins enters his 15th season and will look for his 13th women's conference championship and fourth men's league title. He has been named MVC Swimming Coach of the Year eight times. He was also a five-time Mid-American Conference Swimming Coach of the Year.
