Janson Receives CUSA Jim Castañeda Postgraduate Scholarship

SPRINGFIELD - Missouri State swimming and diving alumna Lana Janson, from Cape Town, South Africa, was selected as one of 10 2026 CUSA Jim Castañeda Postgraduate Scholarship recipients, the league announced this week.
Janson will receive a $4,000 scholarship after being selected as a distinguished graduate by the league's Faculty Athletics Representatives and approved by the Conference USA Board of Directors.
Janson was selected after an incredible tenure at Mo State, in which she earned seven gold medals, seven silver medals, eight bronze medals, and was part of a Missouri Valley Conference team title in 2024.
Janson capped off her senior year by being named to the All-MVC first team and academic all-district teams. In the classroom, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in physics, with an accumulated 3.98 GPA.
The Jim Castañeda Postgraduate Scholarship award has been named after Dr. Jim Castañeda for its 18th year, honoring Castañeda who served Rice for 46 years as an educator, coach and faculty athletics representative before he passed in 2008.
