TOPEKA, Kan. – Missouri State track and field finished day one of the Washburn Open and Multis on Friday in Topeka, Kan.

The Bears kicked the day off with the 60-meter dash qualifiying round. Sophomore
Olivia Rogers finished fifth out of 101 athletes competing in the event. She finished first in her heat to automatically qualify for the preliminary round tomorrow.
Kayleigh Jenkins,
Shacky Douglas and
Brianna Howard also qualified for the preliminary with times of 7.70, 7.78 and 7.85, respectively.

Rogers recorded another top-10 finish in the only round of the 200-meter dash. She finished in ninth with a time of 24.68 out of 84 athletes.

MoState also competed in its first distance medley relay of the season.

Mary Margaret Harris and
Ella Cronhardt finished in second place with a time of 11:59.52 while
Kaitlyn Hatley,
Seleena Morris,
Faith Fotiades and
Adrien Martens finished sixth with a time of 12:41.05.

Jordan Fife said. "We have a lot of athletes excited to get back out there tomorrow."

The Bears will continue competition on Saturday with the pentathlon kicking off at 10:15 a.m.
