TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Missouri State track and field team wrapped day two of the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship here Saturday with 17.5 points to sit in seventh place.
 
MoState scored most of Saturday's points in the high jump finals. Freshman Linzy Williams placed fifth in her first MVC meet with an attempt of 1.65-meters for 3.5 points. DaeLin Switzer placed seventh in the event with a season best performance of 1.65-meters for 2 points.
 
Mia McLain scored the Bears' last point of the day with an eighth-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase. McLain set a personal record with a time of 11:02.96.
 
In the prelims, Whitney Farrington secured her spot in Sunday's final for the 400-meter dash. The sophomore set a personal record with a time of 55.75 and she finished second in Heat 1.
 
Seven Bears set personal records in today's competition. Each athlete in the 400-meter dash and 3000-meter steeplechase recorded a best new time.
 
"Today was another really solid day," head coach Jordan Fife said. "We have some momentum heading to tomorrow with our day one qualifiers as well as Whitney's advancement in the 400-meter dash. Scoring two in the high jump with Linzy and DaeLin was big. We had several season and lifetime bests today which is really all you can ask for at this stage. Mia closed out the scoring for the day in the steeple to give us another point that we didn't have on paper. We're looking forward to closing out the meet strong!"
 
Competition concludes Sunday with the triple jump at 11:30 a.m. The first running event of the day will be the 4x100-meter relay finals at 12:00 p.m. MoState will compete in seven total finals, and the meet will air on ESPN+.
