SPRINGFIELD - The Missouri State women's swimming & diving team branches off for a meet of its own for the only time before the Missouri Valley Conference Championships with a single-day meet against the Arkansas Razorbacks in Fayetteville on Thursday, Oct. 17. The meet is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. CT at Arkansas Natatorium. Live scoring can be found on the Meet Mobile app.
Bears Splashes
- Missouri State women's swimming & diving is coming off a 246-107 loss to the Southern Illinois Salukis in Carbondale in a two-day meet on Oct. 4-5. The Bears won four events.
- Sophomore Makenzie Kurre earned her first career event win in the 50-yard freestyle (24.30) against SIU.
- Sophomore Caitlyn Friebe defeated four Arkansas swimmers last season to win the 100-yard backstroke (54.48). That remains her personal best at Missouri State. The victory propelled her to her first of two Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Week awards last season.
Series History vs. Arkansas
- Missouri State women's swimming & diving will be looking for its first-ever win against Arkansas in the 12th all-time meeting between the two.
- Arkansas defeated Missouri State 191-109 last season on Nov. 4, 2023 at Hammons Student Center Pool.
Scouting the Razorbacks
- Arkansas opened its season with a 140-95 victory over Drury on Sept. 17. It most recently fell to Missouri, 174-125.
- Reka Rohacs holds the nation's 14th-fastest time in the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:56.91) this season.
- Isabella Cothern holds the nation's 15th-fastest time in the 50-yard freestyle (22.56) and the 18th-fastest time in the 100-yard freestyle (49.42).
- Brandi Jones holds the nation's 15th-fastest time in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.05).
- Freshman Holly Robinson has the nation's 10-fastest time in the 400-yard Individual Medley (4:18.02).
- Arkansas has the nation's 15th-fastest time in the 200-yard Medley Relay (1:39.20).
Head Coach Dave Collins
- Missouri State swimming & diving head coach Dave Collins enters his 14th season and will look for his 13th women's conference championship and fourth men's league title. He has been named MVC Swimming Coach of the Year eight times, including each of the last five years. He was also a five-time MAC Swimming Coach of the Year.
