FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Missouri State track and field team wrapped up its participation at the John McDonnell Invitational here Friday evening, setting several season bests in the team's third outdoor meet of the season.

"It was another cold and windy day, but we still had several bright spots," said head coach Jordan Fife.

Calandra Henry was one of those bright spots, leading the way for the Bears on the track with a runner-up finish in the 100-meter dash (11.99). Henry also earned a top finish in her second event of the day, finishing third in the 200-meter with a season-best time of 24.49 seconds.

In the 800-meter, Sierra Williams turned out a competitive performance for the Bears, finishing second in the 22-person field with a lifetime best of 2:10.60. Claudrice McKoy earned a top-10 finish as well, ending the race in 10th (2:18.84).

On the distance side of things, Edna Dar raced to fifth in the 1,500-meter run, clocking a time of 4:33.54. The mark was nearly 20 seconds faster than her first appearance in the event to begin the season. Ashley Rolewicz finished in eighth place in the event, with a time of 4:38.84.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Kate Anderson improved her season best with a time of 15.52 seconds while Meghan Halstead recorded a season best in the 400 hurdles as well (1:06.21).

"Calandra had a nice double in the 100 and 200 finishing second and third, respectively," said Fife. "We saw continued improvement out of Kate in the short hurdles and Meghan in the long hurdles. Sierra ran a very impressive 800 for a huge lifetime best and Edna and Ashley ran great 1,500s to close out the meet for us."

The Bears also improved on their strong start to the season in the javelin throw, with Jaide Rose and Cheyenne White both turning out top-10 finishes to end the meet in eighth and ninth place, respectively. Rose's mark of 43.95 meters was a lifetime best and improved on her previous mark of 42.28 meters recorded during the 2020-21 season while White's throw of 41.93 meters was a season best.

In the triple jump, Tamia Emerson recorded mark of 11.33 meters, showing consistency for the Bears in the jumps.

"We're continuing to put in the work and feel confident. We'll be ready for some big performances from a lot more people once we get some improved conditions to compete in," finished Fife.

MSU continues its season when the team travels to Warrensburg, Mo., on Friday, April 15, to compete in the Mule Relays at 1 p.m.
