SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State men's swimming and diving team will look to close out its season with a conference title at the Mid-American Conference Championships (March 2-5) in Carbondale, Ill., at the Dr. Edward J. Shea Natatorium on the campus of Southern Illinois.

Meet Details
- The dual will be held at Edward J. Shea Natatorium in Carbondale, Ill.
- Finals will take place at 6:30 p.m. on all four days while prelims will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday-Saturday.
- The Meet will be streamed on the Mid-American Conference and Saluki Athletics page.

- The Missouri State men have captured 21 conference titles throughout their storied history while producing 13 NCAA national qualifiers and five Olympians.
- MSU has won conference crowns as members of the MIAA Conference (5), Mid-Continent Conference (7), Missouri Valley Conference (5), Sunbelt Conference (1), and the MAC (3).
- The Bears' most recent conference title came in 2020 when Missouri State posted 892 points.
- When the Bears dive off the blocks on Wednesday evening, it will be the 13th time Missouri State has competed at the MAC Championships since becoming an affiliate member in 2010.
- Missouri State recorded a second-place finish at last year's MAC Championships with 687 total points.
- The Bears return five of their 2021 first-team All-MAC honorees: Arthur Cury, Michael Hampel, AJ Huskey, Pawel Krawczyk and Dylan Moffatt. Robbie Hill, Jonathan Hill and John David Spence highlight second-team All-MAC returnees.
- Overall, the Missouri State roster has accumulated 19 career golds at the MAC Championships.
- Krawczyk has been a dominant force since breaking onto the scene in 2019. The Warsaw, Poland product has tallied eight individual wins this season and holds MAC-best times in the 500 freestyle (4:21.99) and 200 butterfly (1:46.07). He has nine career gold medals and four silver medals at the MAC Championships and is a three-time MAC first-team selection and was the 2019 MAC Freshman Swimmer of the Year.
- The Missouri State men's swimming & diving teams were selected by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as a Scholar All-America Team, the organization announced Jan. 25. The MSU men posted a GPA of 3.34, which makes them eligible for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings. Teams were selected based on their Fall 2021 grade point averages and represent 18,029 student-athletes.
- The Bears are 3-1 in head-to-head duals this season with wins over Southern Illinois, Missouri S&T and Drury while suffering a loss (207-79) to No. 9 Mizzou on Dec. 4.
- The last time out, the Bears defeated Drury, 124-117 at Hammons Student Center on Dec. 17.
- Cury leads Missouri State with 10 individual wins this season. His time of 1:36.52 ranks first in the MAC. The Curitiba, Parana, Brazil native was named the MAC Swimmer of the Week on Oct. 29.
- Moffatt holds the fastest times among all MAC swimmers in the 1000 freestyle (9:11.64) and the 1,650 freestyle (15:09.94). The sophomore's seven wins this season rank second among all Bears.
- Nick Schuster and Huskey hold MAC top times in the 100 breaststroke (55.22) and 400 IM (3:52.62), respectively.
- Robbie Hill has been impressive in the backstroke events since breaking onto the scene a year ago. He has posted four wins and seven top-three finishes this season. The Kansas City product holds the top time among MAC swimmers in the 50 backstroke (22.10) and 100 backstroke (48.15).
- Hampel competed in the 100-meter breaststroke at the 2021 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials on June 5 at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Neb., finishing the event with a time of 1:04.27, to place 62nd among all competitors.
- John David Spence has led the Bears on the boards this season with marks of 356.25 in 3-meter diving and 302.77 in 1-meter competition.
- Trevor Fischer's top dives this season scored 264.52 on the 1-meter boards and 264.22 on the 3-meter.
- Dave Collins (Drury, 2005) is in his 11th season as Missouri State head coach.
- Collins garnered Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2021.
- Under Collins' watch, the Bears have won three MAC championships.
- As head coach, Collins and the Bears' staff have produced 22 All-MAC first teamers.
- Academically, with team GPAs of 3.0 or higher, both Bear squads have annually earned CSCAA Scholar All-America team honors.
- Since his arrival at Missouri State, the Bears have broken every men's school record in the non-freestyle events.
- Collins has taken the Bears' recruiting efforts to new heights. He and his coaching staff are responsible for signing Missouri State's first top-100 recruit: 2012 Olympian Uvis Kalnins of Latvia. CollegeSwimming.com listed Kalnins as the No. 68 overall swimmer in the 2012 recruiting class.
- Before becoming head coach, Collins served as an assistant for four seasons at Missouri State under MSU Hall of Famer Jack Steck.
- The MVC Championships conclude the 2021-22 slate for the Missouri State swimming and diving program.
