Final Results
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Missouri State track and field team made great strides during the second day at the Tom Botts Invitational, hosted at Audrey J. Walton Stadium.
Bears take four of the top eight spots in the 100-meter dash, all earning personal bests.
Taryn Smiley blazed an 11.66 race taking the top spot in the event.
Timeka Jordan matched her career best with a 12.00 race finishing in third place, while
Tomi Bamigbade took fifth place in 12.20 and
Sidne' Williamson also took eighth place in 12.35.
Smiley also recorded a career best 200-meter dash in 24.21, earning second place, out pacing eighth place
Chicago Bains' career best of 25.59.
Bains tagged on her own second career best of the meet in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing the event in 13.70.
Edna Dar and
Kayla Fallis both recorded PRs in the 800-meter run. Dar finished in second place in 2:12.65 and Fallis took third place in 2:13.17.
The 4x100-meter relay team of
Timeka Jordan, Smiley,
Namibia Clavier and Bains displayed a season best 45.86 first place finish.
The Bears will head to the prestigious Drake Relays next week (April 24-27) for the final meet of the regular season in Des Moines, Iowa.
