Bears Put Together Strong Team Effort at Woo Pig Classic

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Missouri State women's track and field turned in a statement performance Saturday at the Woo Pig Classic, led by a dominant performance in the distance events and several personal best marks inside the Randal Tyson Track Center.
 
The Bears controlled the spotlight in the 3,000-meter, where Missouri State placed four runners inside the top six and claimed the top two finishes. Lena Singleton led the charge with a first-place finish and personal-best time of 10:08.92. Elsa Henry followed in second with a personal best of 10:10.75, while Ella Rew and Madilyn Moore added fifth- and sixth-place finishes with personal-best marks of 10:11.93 and 10:14.86.
 
In the mile, Ella Cronhardt delivered a milestone performance. The junior placed fourth overall with a personal-best time of 4:51.41, moving into No. 3 all-time in Missouri State program history. Mary Margaret Harris added an eighth-place finish in 5:04.75, while Tabitha Fox and Adrien Martens placed 10th and 12th to give the Bears four runners inside the top 12. Abby Meyer highlighted the 800-meter with a ninth-place finish time of 2:15.17, as Faith Fotiades and Emilee Brusselers each placed inside the top 15.
 
Missouri State's sprinters produced a steady set of performances throughout the meet. Olivia Rogers led the Bears in the 60-meter dash with a 10th-place finish in 7.56, followed closely by Delaney Weimer in 11th at 7.57. Shackera Douglas and Kayleigh Jenkins added top-20 finishes, while Sydney Ward, Rakiya Lang and Alyssa Ball rounded out a deep sprint group. Rogers returned in the 200-meter to place 13th in 24.48, with Jordyn Buckley and Weimer also finishing inside the top 20.
 
In the 400-meter, Claire Farrell paced Missouri State with a 16th-place finish in 55.41. Whitney Farrington and Raegan Foster followed, with Foster recording a personal best 57.01. BreAna Garrett and Buckley added solid runs as Missouri State continued to stack competitive marks. In the hurdles, Mirabella Redman and Tommi Martin each recorded personal best times in the 60-meter hurdle prelims, while Cheria Galbreath also turned in a strong effort.
 
The Bears closed the day on the track with a fourth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay. The team of Farrington, Farrell, Foster and Garrett combined to run 3:47.30, while the second Missouri State squad placed ninth overall.
 
In the field events, Shiloh Cross recorded a fifth-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 12.15 meters. Kayleigh Jenkins and Maggie Haase each cleared 1.55 meters in the high jump. In the long jump, Mirabella Redman led Missouri State with a mark of 5.35 meters, while Barrett Jackson followed closely. Tommi Martin added a personal best performance in the long jump and also competed in the shot put.
 
Missouri State returns to competition Feb. 13-14 at the Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, Kan., hosted by Pittsburg State.
