TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Missouri State track and field team collects five first place finishes enroute to a third place (114 points) finish at the John Gartland Invitational, here on Saturday.
Taryn Smiley paced the Bears with two first place finishes, in the 60-meter (7.58) and 200-meter (24.96) run, recording a career best in the 200-meter.
Grace Breiten earned a first place 3000-meter run with a personal best 10:10.43 time. Breiten also took a career record 4:59.15 second place mile time.
Sidne' Williamson captured her third first place finish of the indoor season in the long jump, with a 5.86m leap.
In her first meet of the indoor season,
Jamilah James continued where she left off a year ago with a first place triple jump result (12.51m).
Missouri State will take the next step in the indoor season next week by traveling to Pittsburg, Kan., for the Pittsburg State Invitational.
