MSU Swimming Preps for Duals at Drury and Missouri

SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State swimming and diving team will participate in a pair of meets this week against crosstown foe Drury (Jan. 17) and Missouri (Jan. 19) in Springfield, Mo. and Columbia, Mo., respectively.

Thursday's meet at Drury will start with 3-Meter Diving at 4 p.m., and swimming begins at 6 p.m. The Bears will commence at 2 p.m. against Missouri on Saturday.

Bear Bites:
  • The Bears faced Drury earlier this season, seeing the men's side win 146-91 while the women fell just shy in a tight 128-113 contest. Nine different Missouri State swimmers earned a first-place victory in their respective events.
  • MSU traveled to Columbia, Mo. earlier this season to participate in the Missouri Show-Me Showdown, an event comprised of Division I, II, and III universities in Missouri. The Bears finished second on both the men's and women's side.  
  • Missouri State resumes its spring schedule after sweeping Evansville and Southern Illinois to cap 2018.
  • Libby Howell was selected as Missouri Valley Conference Swimmer of the Week on Dec. 4 after collecting five individual wins and contributed to a team victory against Evansville and Southern Illinois.
