SACRAMENTO, Calif.  – Long jumper Sidne' Williamson and sprinter Asha Cave represented the Missouri State track and field team at the first day of the 2018 NCAA West Regional, at Hornet Stadium.
 
Sidne' Williamson marked a 5.98-meter jump to finish in 19^th place in the large regional field, just a tenth of a meter away from qualifying for nationals.
 
Asha Cave represented the Bears in the 100-meter dash prelims where she marked an 11.87 time, finishing in 41st place. The junior will run in the 200-meter prelims tomorrow at 9:55 p.m. CT.
 
Jamilah James is slated to compete in the triple jump on Saturday, at 6:30 p.m. CT.
