MSU Track And Field Kicks Off John Jacobs Invitational


NORMAN, Okla. – The Missouri State track and field team opened the John Jacobs Invitational by collecting four top-10 finishes on Friday (April 21).

In the hammer throw, senior Melanie Raterman finished fourth with a distance of 51.71 meters. Junior Brittany McPike posted a distance of 45.63 meters, good for eighth.

On the track, senior Cindy Forde took sixth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:39.37, just three hundredths out of fifth. In her first race at this distance this season, Jessica Allen placed 10th after crossing the finish line in 4:42.81. Freshman Grace Breiten posted a time of 4:40.51, good for 16th.

The Bears are back in action in the John Jacobs Invitational on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the javelin throw while the 4 x 100-meter relay will go at 12:45 p.m.
