SPRINGFIELD - The Missouri State track and field team heads to Fayetteville, Ark., on Saturday (March 25) to compete in the University of Arkansas' Spring Invitational. Saturday's competition will begin with the long jump at 1:30 p.m. while the 3,000-meter steeplechase will begin the day's events on the track at 3:15 p.m.

Keeping Track the Bears:

• Missouri State will be competing against nine other college teams at Arkansas' Spring Invitational, including Missouri Valley Conference foes Wichita State and Drake.
• Seniors Holly Pattie-Belleli and Melanie Raterman collected the first Missouri Valley Conference Female Track and Field Athletes of the Week of the 2017 Outdoor Season on Tuesday after their strong performances as the Mississippi State Bulldog Relays.
• Four different Bears – sprinter Marissa Kurtimah (100-meter dash, 27^th, 11.72), distance runner Jessica Allen (5,000-meter, 16^th, 17:18.81), hurdler Holly Pattie-Belleli (100-meter hurdles, 31^st, 13.78) and middle-distance runner Shani Adams (400-meter hurdles, 30^th, 1:01.73) as well as two relay teams - 4x100 meters (35^th, 46.04) and 4x400 meters (23^rd, 3:45.14) are among the top times in the country to begin the outdoor season.
• Missouri State has 28 athletes set to compete on Saturday, with 10 set to race in at least two individual events, plus two 4x100 meter relay teams.
• Director of track and field and cross country, Ronald Boyce, enters his 21^st season at the helm in 2016-17. In his time at MSU, his indoor and outdoor track and field teams have claimed nine Missouri Valley Conference Championships and have been Valley runners-up six times.
