Bradley rallied with a stellar two-under par 282 in blustery conditions Tuesday (Mar. 21) to clip Missouri State by two strokes and claim the team title at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate in Springfield, Mo. MSU held a two-shot edge entering the final round and posted its best round of the tournament, a two-over 286, to go along with 288-287 Monday for an 861 total. Bradley shot 291-286-282--859 in its three trips around the par 71, 6760-yard Twin Oaks Country Club course. Tuesday's play was delayed more than three hours due to thunderstorms in the Springfield area.
Sophomore
Adam Fisher earned runner-up honors for the Bears in the medalist race, firing 68-71-69--208 and finishing a shot behind BU's Ethan Brue, who carded 69-68-70--207. In all, the Bears had three top-10 finishers as sophomores
Brad Carpenter and
Jack Knoesel tied for fifth and seventh, respectively. Carpenter tallied 74-72-70--216 and Knoesel shot 73-73-71--217. Sophomore
Kory Franks and freshman Chris Obert tied for 21st with 222 totals; Franks carded 74-72-76 while Obert had 73-72-77.
Three Bears competed as individuals in the medalist competition. Junior
Brian Rogers tied for 16th with 71-72-78--221, and junior
John Fuchs and
Lukas McCalla tied for 21st. Fuchs posted 74-71-77--222 and McCalla 70-74-78--222.
MSU is idle next week and will be back in action Apr. 3-4 at the Red Wolves Intercollegiate in Jonesboro, Ark.
