Hoegg Tabbed MVC Offensive Player of the Week

MVC Release

ST. LOUIS – Missouri State forward Emmerich Hoegg has been selected Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday (Sept. 26). The award is the third of his career and second accolade for the Bears this season.

Emmerich Hoegg fired a team-high five shots before connecting with the back of the net in MSU's 2-1 late-match thriller against Bradley in the Bears' Valley-opener on Saturday (Sept. 25). The senior accounted for four of MSU's 10 shots in the first half, registering them all in a 20-minute span.

In the 85th minute of the match, MSU's Scott Midgley connected with Hoegg inside the box, who fired his fifth shot of the night past Bradley's goalkeeper, Logan Ketterer, to tally his 12th career game-winning goal and second goal of the season. Hoegg is now tied for first in MSU program history in career game-winning goals with MSU legends Matt Caution (1993-97) and Brad Jordan (1994-97).

Hoegg and the Bears look to continue their win streak on the road at Tulsa on Tuesday (Sept. 27). Kickoff from Hurricane Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
