Cattaneo Joins Men’s Soccer Coaching Staff

January 16, 2026

SPRINGFIELD - Missouri State men's soccer has hired Andrea Cattaneo as a graduate assistant coach, Missouri State head coach Michael Seabolt announced.

"We are very excited to add Andrea to our coaching staff. I have known him for over five years and worked with him in his previous role at College Life Italia. I also want to extend a big thank you to our friends at College Life Italia for their help during Andrea's job transition to MSU. Andrea has a great work ethic and is a great fit for Missouri State. He will help us in our recruiting efforts, on the field coaching, camps, and administration. In addition, his job at College Life Italia required him to work closely with student-athletes and build strong relationships with them, which will serve him well here with the Bears," stated Seabolt.

Cattaneo makes his way to Springfield from College Life Italia, assisting Italian student-athletes in finding athletic/academic scholarships in universities in the US, where he has been working since 2020.

Prior to his time at College Life Italia, Cattaneo completed his bachelor's degree in business administration at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milano, Italy. He then moved to Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee where he completed his MBA and was part of the men's soccer team for two seasons, from 2016-2017.

Cattaneo then stayed at Lincoln Memorial for two more seasons (2018-2019) as an assistant coach with the women's soccer team, while completing a master's in business analytics. In those two seasons the team won the SAC tournament twice and reached the Sweet 16 in 2018 as well as the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Cattaneo hails from Milano, Italy and grew up playing for the youth academies of Atalanta, Pro Patria and Como and played in Serie D which is the fourth division of professional soccer in Italy.

"I'm very grateful and excited for the opportunity to be part of the coaching staff at Missouri State. I can't wait to join the team!" Cattaneo exclaimed.

The Missouri State men's soccer team finished their first season in the American Conference with a 3-3-2 record and a quarterfinal appearance in the American Conference tournament, with an overall 6-6-4 season record.
