Relay Team Shines in Indoor Regular Season Finale

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Seven Missouri State sprinters capped the track and field indoor regular season at the Arkansas Qualifier here Friday. The Bears were led by a first-place finish by the 4x400-meter relay squad and three top-five individual performances.

The quartet of Shani Adams, Kadisha Francois, Holly Pattie-Belleli, and Erin Roebuck knocked nearly one second off of a season-best 4x400-meter relay time, finishing first at the meet in 3:44.71. This time currently sits as the second-best time in the Missouri Valley Conference behind leaders Illinois State.

Five of the seven student-athletes competed in the 200-meter dash for MSU. Marissa Kurtimah and Shavonne Husbands finished in the top-five with third and fourth places, respectively. Meanwhile Francois and Pattie-Belleli picked up personal best times of 24.73 and 24.91, respectively.

The Bears will have one week to prepare for the 2016 MVC Indoor Track and Field Championships at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The two-day championship is set to open Saturday, Feb. 27 at 9:30 a.m. with the women's pentathlon. The women's weight throw will open field events at 1:15 p.m., while the women's 60-meter hurdles preliminaries will start track events at 3:00 p.m.
