ST. LOUIS - Missouri State freshman Stine Pettersen has been named Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.

Pettersen helped the Bears to a fifth-place finish out of 16 schools at the Blue Raider Invitational in Murfreesboro, Tenn., this week. The Moss, Norway, native tied for 12th individually, shooting 8-over-par 224 at the 6,389-yard, par-72 Old Fort Golf Club.

Pettersen closed the tournament, hosted by Middle Tennessee, with consecutive rounds of 1-over 73, while leading the field with 42 pars. She opened the week with a 6-over 78 for the Bears, who shot 46-over 910 as a team.

Pettersen has paced Missouri State through the fall season with 75.1 stroke average in 12 rounds, good for fourth in the league. She carded one even-par round of 72 in the Bears' season-opening Chip-N Club Invitational at Nebraska on Sept. 8, and finished in the top 10 twice in four events this season.

Missouri State begins the spring at the Jim West Challenge, hosted by Texas State, on Feb. 15-16, in New Braunfels, Texas.
