Record-Breaking Fall Finale for Women's Golf

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. -- The Missouri State women's golf team closed out its fall season Tuesday (Oct. 21) in record-setting fashion, breaking the school 18-hole scoring mark with a nine-under-par 279 and moving up three spots in the final team standings at the Diamante Intercollegiate. The Bears finished seventh in the 18-team field with an 872 total in three trips around Diamante Country Club after posting 296-297 the first two days.

Junior Coyee Zhang and freshman Chloe Bolte sparked MSU on its historic day, firing 66 and 67, respectively, while senior Kiser Pannier and junior Tierney Baumstark each contributed one-over 73's, and sophomore Siena Minor shot 74. Zhang tied her personal-best mark for 54 holes, carding 74-72-66--212 to place sixth in the tournament. 

Bolte tied for 25th with 73-78-67--218, while Baumstark shot 73-75-73--221 to tie for 44th. Pannier tallied 76-76-73--225 to tie for 63rd and Minor was a stroke back with 78-74-74--226.

Boston College ran away with the team championship by posting 28-under-par 836, with Seattle a distance second at 854. Central Arkansas was third at 861, with Ball State (862), Memphis (866), Lipscomb (869), the Bears, host Little Rock (874), California Baptist (875) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (878) rounding out the top 10.

The Bears are idle now until the spring season begins, Feb. 16-17 at the Great River Cup in Gulfport, Miss.
