Friday Results 
DES MOINES, Iowa - The Missouri State track and field squad competed in four events and claimed three top-10 finishes at the Drake Relays on Friday (April 26).
Senior Kimsue Grant led the way for the Bears, as the All-American took ninth place in the long jump with a mark of 5.89 meters, the third-best distance for MSU this season.
Grant also was part of the Bears' 4x100-meter relay team that also placed ninth in 46.16 seconds and missed qualifying for the finals by less than a tenth of a second. Junior Pernell Joseph, freshman Shavonne Husbands and sophomore Althia Maximilien rounded out the 4x100 field for MSU.
Joseph and Husbands went on to compete in the 100-meter dash preliminary round. Joseph placed 19th in 12.46 seconds, while Husbands was 26th in 12.55 seconds.
Husbands, Maximilien, Joseph and junior Gemma Smith comprised Missouri State's 4x200-meter relay squad that placed eighth with a time of 1:39.13.
The Bears will return to action on Saturday for day three of the Relays.
