SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Missouri State continues to add talent to its baseball roster for next season, adding Iowa Western Community College third baseman and Cameron, Mo., native Brent Seifert to its recruiting class.
Seifert is currently playing in the JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, Colo., where the Reivers will meet Crowder College and MSU signees Kyle Hardy and Dan Kickham in a 9 p.m. elimination game Wednesday (June 2).
Entering the World Series, Seifert was batting .497 with 17 home runs, 88 RBIs, 71 runs scored and a .944 slugging percentage as the Region Player of the Year. Iowa Western is making its fourth consecutive series appearance this season.
The 6-foot, 195-pound Seifert was all-region as a freshman at IWCC after hitting .375 with six homers, and was a three-time first-team all-conference pick at Cameron High School while earning honorable mention all-state honors as a senior in 2008.
