The Missouri State women's golf team shot 313 Monday (Apr. 19) to move up a spot on the second day of the 2010 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Championship in Evansville, Ind. The Bears have recorded 314-313--627 over the first two days and sit in third place in the 10-team tourney entering the the final round at Rolling Hills Country Club.
Bear sophomore Catherine Dolan shot a two-over-par 74 in the second round and is also in third in the medalist race after posting 75 in the first round. Her 149 total places her four shots behind Laura Harris of Illinois State and two behind Drake's Olivia Lansing. Sophomore Kelsey Welber is tied for seventh at 76-78--154, while senior Stacey Rodger is tied for 24th after carding 80-81--161. Freshman Heather Smith is tied for 33rd after shooting 83-80--163 and freshman Hermine Greyling is tied for 46th with 88-82--170.
Defending champion Illinois State leads the team race with 307-301--608, seven better than Drake, which has shot 306-309--615. MSU is third, followed closely by UNI (628), Indiana State (630) and Wichita State (635). Bradley is seventh (641), followed by Southern Illinois (644), Creighton (648) and Evansville (670).
