Missouri State shot a consistent 307-307--614 Monday (Mar. 24) and stands in fifth place of 21 teams after 36 holes of the UALR/North Texas Classic in Hot Springs Village, Ark. The Bears trail co-leaders Tulsa and Florida International (605) by nine shots, third place Texas State (607) by seven and fourth place Arkansas-Little Rock (609) by five.
Sophomore Stacey Rodger led the Bears on the first day of the tournament, shooting 75-74--149 in two trips around the Diamante Country Club layout, good for a tie for sixth place. Christy Carter of Oral Roberts leads the medalist race after firing 72-69--141. MSU senior Missy Linnens is tied for 25th after posting 77-77--154 while junior Amy Phalajivin is tied for 34th with 78-78--156. Junior Lindsey Wellenstein shot 80-78--158 and is tied for 44th with senior Jillian Anthony tied for 47th after carding 77-82--159.
Tuesday's final round is scheduled for an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
