Three Missouri State baseball student-athletes have been named All-Missouri Valley Conference for 2007, headlined by Ross Detwiler’s second-team nod, it was announced by the league Monday. Nolan Keane and Matt Lawson were honorable mention. All three are repeat all-conference honorees.
Detwiler, a junior lefthanded pitcher, ranks second in the MVC in ERA (2.09), strikeouts (108) and batting average against (.192), and has fanned at least 10 hitters in five games this year. His 108 total strikeouts are the second-best season total in MSU history, and he ranks fourth in school history with 242 strikeouts in three years. He was honorable mention last season.

Lawson is a .272 hitter this season with a team-best three triples and has stolen 16 bases to rank second on the team. The junior second baseman has been a part of 45 double plays to rank second in the Valley while leading the Bears to a top-15 national ranking in double plays per game. He was a second-team selection in 2006.
The league tournament begins Wednesday at Hammons Field in Springfield. Missouri State is the sixth seed and will face No. 1 Wichita State at 7 p.m.
