This week's Murney Student-Athlete of the Week is Missouri State baseball's Spencer Nivens. Nivens slashed .563/.632/938 last week in four games, reaching base safely 12 times with four extra-base hits and seven RBI. Nivens doubled twice in Tuesday’s game with Missouri and began the UIC series with a 3-for-4 effort, double and RBI on Friday. In game one of Saturday’s doubleheader at UIC, Nivens tied a career high with six RBI, going 3-for-5 with a home run and three runs scored. He drove in all six runs before the Flames batted one time through their lineup. In game two Saturday, he went 1-for-3 with a run scored and was hit by two pitches as the Bears completed the series sweep.
