Justin Paulsen turned in a strong week to help extend the Bears’ perfect Valley start to 11-straight victories, as well as MSU’s season-best win streak to nine games. Paulsen hit .400 (6-for-15) overall and drove in at least one run in all three of the Bears’ victories. Against Mizzou, the Ballwin, Mo., product belted the go-ahead home run and finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored in a 5-1 victory that completed a season sweep of the Tigers. He also came up big in each of MSU’s two Valley wins at Evansville driving in two runs in a 13-8 opening-game win, before going 3-for-6 with three RBIs while tying a Bears single-game record with three doubles in their 9-5 comeback win to complete the abbreviated two-game series sweep.
