Biography
At Missouri State: Jody McFarlen brings depth to the backline this season. 2009: McFarlen saw playing time off the bench in seven of the Bears matches. She earned her first letter as a member of the Bears. Background: McFarlen spent her freshman and sophomore seasons as a starter in the midfield for Bolivar High before electing not to play for the Liberators as a junior in favor of playing for a boys club team. Upon returning to the girls team her senior season, she scored 19 goals and assisted on 11 others in propelling her team to the district championship and the quarterfinals at state for the first time in school history. For her efforts, she was rewarded with all-region, All-Central Ozark Conference, all-district and All-Ozarks first team accolades. McFarlen also qualified for state meets in tennis and track during her high school career. Personal: McFarlen is the daughter of Randy and Sally McFarlen and was born August 24, 1991. She is an electronic arts major at MSU. Her father, Randy, was drafted in the 13th round of the 1981 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers and played in their minor league system.
