2021-22: Played in 16 games as a true freshman…Shot .545 (6-for-11) from behind the arc…Made her MSU debut at USC (Nov. 20)…Scored her first career point at UNI (Jan. 13)…Recorded her first field goal at Evansville in a season-high 16 minutes played (Jan. 27)…Set and broke her season and career high in points scored in back-to-back games with nine points at Bradley (Feb. 20) and 11 points against Evansville (Feb. 24), knocking down three treys in both games…Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for Fall 2021 and Spring 2022.

Background: Byers was a three-year varsity starter for Helias Catholic, earning Class 5 all-state honors from the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association as a senior after averaging 13 points, six rebounds, 3.3 assists and three steals per game...Shot 57.6 percent from the floor and connected on 47 3-pointers, adding all-conference and all-district honors, as well as a McDonald’s All-America nomination to her resume...Averaged 14.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 3.1 steals per game as a junior, leading the Lady Crusaders to their first district title in six years...Left-hander who also earned multiple all-tournament and tournament MVP honors during her prep career.
