At Missouri State: Stauffer will provide a great deal of leadership and experience in the sprint group. With the departure of Amber Green, the senior will be Missouri State[apos]s top returning sprint freestyler this season.
2010-11: Stauffer owned Missouri State[apos]s second fastest time in the 50 and 100 free last year as well as the third fastest 100 fly mark. At the MVC Championships, she earned All-MVC first team honors after playing a key role on the Bears[apos] record-breaking relays and her individual performances. Stauffer collected three gold medals in the 200 free, 200 medley and 400 free relays. Individually, Stauffer swam in the A-Final in all three events including a bronze medal in the 100 free and fifth and sixth in the 50 free and 100 fly, respectively.
2009-10: In her second season as a Bear, Stauffer continued to improve. She was a key component in the MVC Championships as she placed in the top-10 in every event in which she competed. She was also the second swimmer in the water for the 200 free relay team that took first in the MVC Championships at 1:34.32.
2008-09: As a freshman, Stauffer competed in three different events (50 free, 100 free and 100 fly) and broke into the season[apos]s top-five in all three events. She set two personal bests in the Arkansas-Little Rock Invitational in the 50 free (25.25) and the 100 free (53.48).
Background: Stauffer joined the Bears after lettering all four years in swimming at Joplin High School. Stauffer qualified for state and was named the team[apos]s most outstanding swimmer for four consecutive years during her high school career. She placed in the top-16 at the state meet her sophomore year in the 100 free and the 200 medley relay. She set Joplin[apos]s 100 fly record and finished in the top-16 in the event at state her junior year. As a senior, Stauffer qualified for state in the 200 IM and the 100 fly.
Personal: Ali Stauffer is the daughter of Galen Stauffer and Nancy Challberg. She was born on December 10, 1989 in Joplin, Mo. and has one sister, Kate Stauffer. She is majoring in physical education.
