2014-15 Season (Senior): First Bears diver to qualify for NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships in previous 25 years and third MSU diver to ever do so ... Qualified for NCAAs with top-eight finish at Zone D Championship in Iowa City on the 1-meter board with 669.90 points ... Also advanced to NCAAs with 12th-place finish on the 3-meter board by tallying 697.35 points ... Eventually finished 41st and 47th overall at the NCAA Championships in 3- and 1-meter diving, respectively ... Earned silver medal on 1-meter and placed fourth on 3-meter at the Mid-American Conference Championships ... Named to the All-MAC Second Team ... Shattered school and pool records in the `Duel in the Pool' at Hammons Student Center on Oct. 16 ... Beat own school record in 1-meter diving by more than 54 points (411.87) and topped HSC best set previous season by Missouri's David Bonuchi ... 2013-14 Season (Junior): Named an All-MAC First Team and Academic All-MAC honoree ... Selected as the MAC Outstanding Diver of the Year ... Qualified to compete at the NCAA Zone D Diving Regionals in Iowa City, Iowa ... Nearly missed out on a trip to the NCAA Swimming and Diving championships ... Tied for 21st overall in 3-meter diving with 326.10 points, missing the cut by 13 points ... Preliminary round score of 310.40 in 1-meter placed him in 23rd, five spots out of advancing ... Won MAC championship in 1-meter diving by breaking own school record with a score of 357.60 ... Placed third at MAC championships with 327.75 points in 3-meter diving ... Earned MAC Swimmer of the Week on Oct. 28, 2013, after sweeping 1- and 3-meter diving events against Drury University ... Broke 26-year-old Hammons Student Center pool record with 357.67 points in 1-meter event in Drury dual ... Claimed 1-meter diving crown at TYR Invitational on the Northwestern campus and in duals against Southern Illinois and Evansville ... Finished fourth in platform event at TYR Invite. 

2012-13 Season (Sophomore): Named MSU Male Diver of the Year for the second straight season...Set new school records on both 1- and 3-meter during the 2012-13 campaign ... At the NCAA Zone `D' Diving Championships for the second time in as many years; posted a two-round total of 628.50 points on 1-meter to finish 12th out 31 divers; added another top-15 finish in 3-meter with a score of 642.90 and 15th place ... Qualified for the A-Final in the 1- and 3-meter diving events at the 2013 MAC Championships; started off the meet with a bronze medal on 1-meter (333.85); had a record-breaking performance in the 3-meter competition with a new MSU record and the third-best prelims score (378.60); dropped to seventh overall in finals (313.70) ... Against then-No. 20 Penn State, Nevels won the 1-meter competition and set a new MSU standard in the event with a score of 357.60 ... Earned MAC Athlete of the Week laurels for first time in career after performance against the ranked Nittany Lion squad ... Had seven first-place finishes during the dual-meet season; runner-up finish on 1- and 3-meter at UIW Christmas Invitational.

2011-12 Season (Freshman): Recipient of the MSU Male Diver of the Year awad ... Competed in the NCAA Zone 'D' Diving Championships in Iowa City, Iowa; Finished 22nd out of 31 competitors in the 3-meter competition; On the second day, he advanced past the preliminary round and made the top-18; Had a composite score of 575.20 and finished 15th overall ... At the 2012 MAC Championships, he was less than two points away from qualifying for the A-Final on 1-meter; placed 11th overall ... To close out the conference championships, he scored a season-best 329.40 points on 3-meter and finished seventh overall...Won on 1-meter at six dual meets ... Took home first place in 3-meter diving at four separate duals...Placed first out of nine competitors in the 1-meter diving competition at the UIW Christmas Invitational ... Was No. 1 on the season's top performers list for both the 1- and 3-meter diving.
