2015: Made appearances in all 17 matches during his first season with the Bears while cracking the starting line-up four times… third in shots among newcomers (8)… Tallied his first goal in the maroon and white in the Bears’ 3-0 victory over Eastern Illinois (Oct. 6)… Recorded a team-high overall in shots on goal percentage (.875), connecting seven of his eight shots on the goal.
Freshman/Sophomore (UW-Green Bay): Started for two seasons at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where he totaled five goals and six assists.
Background: Played varsity soccer at Edwardsville High for three seasons before foregoing his senior season to play for the St. Louis Scott Gallagher Metro U17/18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy. He led the Tigers in assists and earned all-conference and all-sectional honors in both of his final two seasons of high school.
Personal: Tyler James Swanner is the son of Jamie and Karen Swanner...Born July 12 in St. Louis, Mo....Plans on majoring in history education at MSU...Aspires to coach soccer and teach after graduating from MSU...His mother, father, and uncle all participated in collegiate athletics.
