2019: Polak made 46 starts at third base in his debut season with the Bears, belting eight home runs and driving in 27 runs overall ... Caught fire down the stretch, hitting .289 with four homers during MVC play ... Logged 10 multi-hit games and six multi-RBI performances ... Recorded hits in each of his first three games as a Bear (Feb. 15-17) at the Texas State Tournament, delivering an RBI single in MSU’s first win of the season against Utah (Feb. 16) ... Registered the first of two three-hit games on the year with a 3-for-4 day at Oklahoma State (March 12) ... Drove in at least one run in three-straight games, March 12-15 ... Hit his first home run in a Missouri State uniform March 27 against Kansas as part of a 2-for-4 night ... Followed with another two-hit game to open Valley play in a 6-5 win over Indiana State (March 29) ... Delivered four consecutive multi-hit performances to kick off a season-best seven-game hit streak (April 2-12); started his torrid stretch with a two-hit game at SEMO, homering in the 8-2 victory, then two more hits the following day at Murray State in another MSU win ... Blasted three home runs and drove in five runs to open the Bears MVC series at Southern Illinois (April 5), before logging three more hits over the final two games of the series; hit .455 (10-for-22) with four home runs and eight RBIs in five games to earn an MVC Player of the Week and and Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week nod (April 22) ... Went 13-for-31 (.419) over the course of his personal-best seven-game hit streak ... Homered and drove home four total runs in MSU’s three-game set at Illinois State (April 12-13) ... Launched a two-run homer vs. New Orleans (April 20), before going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a pair of runs scored against Bradley (April 27) ... Hit .333 with a homer and two RBIs in two games at the MVC Tournament ... Named to the MVC Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll at the conclusion of the season ... Hit .387 with 15 home runs and 40 RBIs in just 32 games over the summer with the Quincy Gems to earn Prospect League All-Star recognition.


Background: Joined the Bears after being named the 2018 ABCA/Rawlings NJCAA Division I Baseball Player of the Year for Jefferson College ... Clubbed 32 home runs and drove in 107 runs, while batting .459 and slugging .991 for the Vikings, who went 53-11-1 en route to district and regional titles in 2018 ... Enjoyed a banner prep career at Quincy Notre Dame High School, where he was rated as the No. 5 third baseman in the state of Illinois and the 10th-best recruit overall in the class of 2016 by Perfect Game.
